Director’s Message

I would like to see girls to be confident, fearless, resilient and healthy. I like to see more girls participating in sport, engage in healthy activities and get more opportunities in sports.
I want to see the future if pakistan where we do not have to fight against gender-based violence and mental health problem is freely discussed. I want to see my country as a peaceful country where athletes from around the world can come and play sports without any fear.

Biography of Misbah Hina

I am Misbah Hina from Gulmit Gojal Hunza. I have done my Masters in Sports Sciences from The Punjab University Lahore. I am the founder of Misbah Volleyball Academy. The academy has been promoting sports and physical activities, especially for females to Combat Gender-Based Violence and Gender-Based Inequalities in Gilgit Baltistan by organizing workshops and training sessions on the promotion of female sports, team building activities to impart leadership skills to emerging women leaders in sports, acquaint them with skills of planning, execution, and management of sports initiatives for women.

I serve as Vice-Captain of the HEC Women’s Volleyball Team and has formerly represented Pakistan Army in several National Women’s Volleyball Championships I have also represented Pakistan Women’s Volleyball team in Jubilee Games held in Dubai in 2016. My sports interests are diverse – they include volleyball, skiing, and adventure sports for which I have won several medals while participating in several ski championships.

I recently participated in Sports Exchange Program 2019 in the US funded by the US – Embassy Pakistan. The theme of the exchange program was to Address Gender Based Violence through Sports in Pakistan.  In 2020, I received the Youth Ambassador Award by Global Peace Institute for participating in the Global Youth Peace Summit 2020.

 

I have also worked in collaboration with Right to Play on Seed Funded project in organizing volleyball training camps and sports events for young Girls of the Hunza region in Gilgit-Baltistan.

 

I am making efforts for promotion of sports to combat extremism, gender based discriminations and violence.  I examine the obstacles for females in the society and design different seminars and sports activities to change the conservative imperative of the society toward females.
